Grow Boxes with Intelligence- Build In Systems Maintain EC/TDS and PH Levels Automatically

December 11, 2011

stealth grow boxesIf you’re in the market for a grow box system, then you shouldn’t have to settle for anything sub-par as they do cost a lot of money.  Mid-sized grow boxes typically range from $1000 dollars all the way to $5000 depending on the features included.  A top of the line grow box at the high end of this spectrum is likely to come with sensors and controls to regulate all of the following:  co2,temperature, nutrient levels, lighting, and even pH.  A low end grow box typically controls only one thing, lighting…. Until now.

There is a company called growboxes-stealth that has a new grow box line out that controls everything besides co2 for the mid to low end price range.  You can get a grow box from them that comes with everything you need to grow and then some for $1500-$2000.

When I say “everything to grow” I mean:  nutrients, vertical plant high reducer, light hangers, lighting with ballast, cloning chamber, cloning gel, hydroponics system, case, quick test TDS meter, ph calibration kit, grow guide, locking system, AND the best part of the system, the automated dosing system and automated pH dosing system.

Typically, dosing systems themselves run for about the same price as the grow boxes that growboxes-stealth sells, but you get all of this included in their mid to high level grow box kits for free.

If you’re asking yourself how in the heck a company can offer such a grow box for such a good price, then you’re not alone.  What this company does is manufacture their own dosing system for use in their grow box systems.  They have done this so that they could offer the dosing systems for a price that will be affordable to the average grower.  Growers that are new to hydroponics usually are the ones to benefit the most from these automated dosing systems, yet they are unaffordable to them.

The guys at growboxes-stealth have put together all their mid to high end systems with these dosers to solve the issues they have with their novice growers calling in all of the time.  Additionally, their customers that have been discouraged from growing with hydro due to its complexity and instead having went for their soil systems were being severely limited in the amount that they could harvest given the limited amount of space in a grow box.

It is true with hydro you can yield nearly 2x as much dry weight from your blooms vs. soil, so if you are too timid to learn hydro, then you are truly missing out on something great.

The people that do end up using growbox-stealth’s automated grow box dosing systems to help them maintain the proper amount of total dissolved solids in solution and hydrogen potential save themselves hours of work every week by doing so.

You see, plants are not suppose to be sitting in water that swings back and forth in TDS and pH values because this affects the plants ability to maintain homeostasis.  If the novice hydro grower tries to set his pH and nutrient levels only one time per day, and the plants are being active and or the temps fluctuate, then levels will be unbalanced during some time of the day.  By using the help of dosing systems, you ensure any small fluctuations are taken care of ahead of time and in a proactive manner.  When the novice grower uses the dosing system, they will only be doing this to extend their own manual checks with the secondary testing equipment included.    If by chance the dosing systems are off, then they can easily be re-calibrated once again using the calibration solution that comes with the grow box kit.

As stated before, hydro can double a plants growth rate and yield, but this is only true when you follow best practices for growing with hydro.  When someone using hydro fails to keep their levels consistent, the plant will be in a constant state of shock and won’t be able to grow as they will be busy compensating.  If the novice hydro grower really screws up by letting the ph or nutrient levels swing too far in one way or the other, then their very well can be irreversible damage or even plant death.

pH is the biggest thing to worry about when maintaining a hydro system as it does fluctuate much more than the nutrient levels do.  pH can go from normal to critical levels in less than 24 hours in many cases, so it’s important that if you are indeed adjusting pH levels manually 2 or even 3 times per day.  Apart from simply having to check the pH often, adjusting the pH is quite a job when doing it by hand.  If you have a reservoir of water that that your trying to adjust from 5.5 to 6.6 pH, and this reservoir is exactly 5 gallons, then you must figure out how much pH up or alkaline adjustment solution must be put in the reservoir to compensate in your head.

It would be easy if we could add this pH up solution directly to the reservoir straight, but doing so would surly burn roots as it would be far to alkaline all by itself.  So, what you must do is add this pH adjustment solution to some water, but not too much as not to overfill the reservoir.  Then, once you have added this diluted pH adjustment solution and water into your hydro reservoir, you must make sure the solution itself is evenly distributed throughout the entire hydro system as not to create an imbalance in there.  If your hydroponics system is not constantly re-circulating, then this becomes a chore all in itself.

The stealth grow boxes that growboxes-stealth sells slowly drip in the pH adjustment solution one drop at a time and re-circulates the water constantly as to keep the whole hydro system at one given pH with zero effort on the growers part.  I personally do not understand why anyone would buy a grow box without this capability and do endorse growboxes-stealth.com as the best supplier of grow boxes on the net.
